Stop No. 4 on the tour of Short Pants Plaza is Village Pita Bakery, a bakery, deli and Mediterranean grocery store which has been around since the late ’70s.

FREDERICTON: Lebanese lunch

Drive too fast and you’ll miss Cedar Lunch. It looks like a small corner store but this family-run lunch counter serves huge scrumptious chicken pitas wrapped with fluorescent pink pickled turnips that I love.

I think they’re basically shawarma but the meat doesn’t come off a rotating spit.

There’s also falafel, tabbouleh, kibbeh.
