Cupcakes melt fast when it’s hot out. So I was curious to try Crave’s new ice cream sandwiches

They’re made to order using Crave’s fresh-baked double chocolate or chocolate chunk cookies, and homemade vanilla bean ice cream. I got one of both (for the sake of research).

There are lots of yummy things at Delux, a bistro in a neighbourhood that’s chock full of hot eateries, but there are two items that keep me coming back.

The pressed Cubano sandwich ($15) is divine, with mouth-watering layers of cider-cured pork shoulder, ham, gruyère cheese, cornichons and grainy mustard on homemade bread.

Laura, 4, and Amber, 2, came to visit us today. They brought us dinosaur sugar cookies from the Glamorgan Bakery.
