Jason told me to just rip off the Band-Aid, so here goes … we’re moving from Calgary to Vancouver. It’s not you, it’s me. Well, it’s the baby. In a nutshell, we’re going so we can be closer to family (and lots of dim sum and sushi).
I write this with mixed feelings: obviously excited [...]
Hey Calgary diners, here are a few restaurant re-surfacings worth noting:
Colombian Flavor, one of my favourite hidden gems, which used to be in the now-closed Heritage Flea Market, is now at 2770 Glenmore Trail SE, (403) 457-2484. I think that’s right near the Glenmore Inn.
Longtime Greek favourite, Pegasus, has reopened where the Altadore Dining [...]

Yoda, Darth Vader and a storm trooper as pancake moulds can be yours for $29.95 CAD from Williams-Sonoma. They also make Star Wars [...]
I’ve been carefully watching for this year’s Lobsterfest, an annual fundraiser hosted by the Stampede City Kinsmen, after such a great time last year. (I ate three lobsters.) But with their website down for several weeks, it turned out to be quite a test of my investigative skills. By the time I chased down an [...]
You know they can write about food, but can they bake? Of course they can! Several Calgary food bloggers are applying their talents to a good cause at this weekend’s Market Collective.
Organized by Ceci n’est pas un food blog, the food blogger bake sale will feature goodies from Dinner with Julie and Kitchenscraps as well [...]
A new and improved Hillhurst Sunnyside Farmers’ Market kicks off its season Wednesday, June 2 at the community centre (1320 5th Ave. NW). Lots of new vendors, offering grass-fed beef, local veggies, organic B.C. fruit, and whole grain bread, have joined the roster. The market runs every Wednesday 3:30-7:30 p.m., rain or shine, until Oct. [...]
