Our first day of driving on the First Family Road Trip ended in Revelstoke, B.C. We thought it was a good idea to head out at 6 a.m., so by dinnertime, we were tired and just wanted to get our bellies full and get to sleep.
Emo’s Pizza & Steak House is one of those small-town, no-nonsense, family restaurants where the menu offers no surprises. You got your pizza, pasta, Greek dishes and steaks. Bada boom, bada bing.
H and I shared the spaghetti ($12.95) and meatballs (add $3.50). From a choice of cream, meat or tomato sauce, I picked the last one. Shoulda gone with the meat sauce for more oomph. The two enormous meatballs and pasta came with garlic toast. The carb overload was exactly what I was craving.
J’s comfort food of baked lasagna ($13.95) was exactly the cheese-and-carb fest HE was craving.
I’m guessing Emo’s is a consistent place as it was very busy with a steady stream of families and seniors. There’s a kids’ menu with the standard burgers and pasta. The spacious restaurant is clean and there are lots of flat-screen TVs tuned to sports.
