As you can imagine, I’ve been very lucky to receive some great baby gifts with a food theme, as well as a homemade lasagna. But I was blown away when a delivery man came to our door this week with a sack full of cheese!
It was a baby present from supermom and fellow blogger, Foodie Suz. Despite scaring her at the zoo once, she thoughtfully surprised me with this package from Janice Beaton Fine Cheese.
Four huge chunks of delicious cheese, some organic Paris toasts and a bag of dried cranberries came in a pretty burlap bag tied with purple ribbon.
It’s been heavenly snacking on:
- Sylvan Star Grizzly (Alberta – cow’s milk gouda)
- St. Andre (France – cow’s milk)
- Bleu Benedictin (Quebec – cow’s milk)
- Migneron (Quebec – semi-soft cow’s milk)
Thanks a million, Sue! And to everyone as well for their kind wishes.

You are most welcome!
And welcome to the world little baby H. New parents need good cheese. That is a fact.
(The staff at Janice Beaton were so sweet when I placed the order. They pass on congrats too. Wish they could migrate up to Edmonton!).
What a fantastic idea! I’m definitely going to steal it for when my friends have babies.
St.andres is one of my all time favorite cheeses! That’s a great gift
Being from Wisconsin, we see cheese given as gifts on lots of occasions. It’s a great comfort food!
