Janice Beaton Fine Cheese has opened their grilled cheese bar in the store, featuring three sandwiches ($7.50) daily.
(They’re no longer doing the baguette sandwiches.)
This is the cheddar, oka, and tomato chile jam on bread from Manuel Latruwe. The sharp, nutty cheeses against the sweet jam was amazing. It’s really, really good especially for something different for lunch. It comes with some apple coleslaw and some pickles.
We got ours for takeout, but make sure it’s a short trip; otherwise, it’ll get cold and congealed.
The other choices that day were ham and cheese, and brie, greens, peppers and copa (a headcheese, I think).
Janice Beaton Fine Cheese, 1017-16th Ave. SW, Calgary, (403) 229-0900. The Grilled Cheese Bar is open during store hours, Sunday and Monday 10 a.m.–6 p.m., Tuesday to Friday 9 a.m.–7 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m.–6 p.m.

As the name of my blog suggests, I will pretty much eat anything.
I’m partial to meats but will suffer fruits and vegetables.
I dedicate this to people who love to eat, and find art in their meals. If this blog piques your interest at least once, then I’m happy as a goldfish that eats til it explodes.

A good idea I think. The one in your image does look amazing.
Did you mean “copa” or “coppa”? I’m just wondering because I was recently introduced to the wonderful “coppa” at Farm, and from my understanding, it’s a dry-cured meat that comes from pork shoulder or neck. That would be awesome in a grilled cheese sandwich.
I found it spelled both ways, but your description is way better than mine. Thanks!
Nom. That looks like Nom Nom Nom.
I wish this place was within walking distance of Edmonton City Centre.
I’m drooling here, it’s very sad.
