It’s not an awesome taco truck or a fabulous taqueria, but Chipotle is a fresh, fast-food alternative that previously only existed in the U.S.
Chipotle’s first Canadian location opened last summer on Toronto’s Yonge Street, as part of Toronto Life Square. You’ll recognize it if you’ve been to any of the U.S. branches, because they all have the same chain-approved layout and decor.
But I like that I know what I’m getting — chicken, pork and beef raised without antibiotics — and a certain consistency in service and taste.
I’ve never been a huge burrito fan, so I can’t weigh in on the debate about whether or not Chipotle stands up to other burritos in Toronto, but my sister and I were more than satiated with our pre-dinner snack of three barbacoa tacos ($7.50). And a beer.

Now IF it ever opens in Calgary, it’ll be a thousand miles from downtown (cf Fatburger, Mucho Burrito)… actually a Mucho Burrito is supposed to open in “Bankers Hall” per the MB website but I thing they might mean Bankers Court.
Chipotle. They do make good “fast food”.
First stop on every trip to Vegas. Right there at the exit of the rental car parkade.
I actually hit it up when I was there too and got the taco salad, I thought it was REALLY good and genuinely spicy which I really liked. Come to Vancouver chipotle!!
huh, interesting!
I absolutely love Chipotle. I lived in Colorado my whole life and ate there all the time, but I just recently moved to British Columbia and I miss Chipotle! They need to bring it to BC!
