Word’s got out about Vogglio D’Pizza because when we went to pick up our pizzas Friday night, there were already about six people waiting for their orders.
This time, we got a medium Ponderosa ($14.99) with chicken, mushrooms, green peppers, jalapeno, fresh tomatoes and the same Viennese ($12.25) as last time with anchovies, black and green olives and mushrooms, to which I added salami. Luis the owner upgraded it to a medium because we had to wait so long for them.
We ordered the pies at 7:15 p.m. and finally had them in our hands at 8:40 p.m., longer than the promised 40 minutes.
Luis said he’s ordered a dough machine which should help speed things up but it hasn’t arrived yet. It’s really hard to be miffed when the thin-crust is so good, and when he, his wife and his son are obviously working so hard behind the counter.
So please, be patient. The more popular Vogglio gets, the longer it might take to get your hands on the hot pizza pies. But it’s worth it. The pizzas were fabulous as usual.

It’s all your fault lady! Every discussion I’ve read about good pizza in Calgary has linked to you and your porny pizza
Apparently you are too much of a pizza authority for your own good.
I’m still wishing they’d deliver or franchise to Edmonton.
But pizza this good needs to be shared! You have to come try it. A franchise wouldn’t be the same. I think the big part of it is Luis making the pizzas himself that makes them so yummy. He opens each box to show you the pizza before you pay. Now that’s pride in your work!
great pizza, crappy location.
that’s true, I’ve never had the pizza maker open the box for me to view before he will allow it to be paid for or even before the box is allowed out of the building.
chezlamere, it’s only crappy if you don’t live in the west beltline or sunalta or lower bankview. I live a 2-minute walk away and am thrilled with the location!
Lau- I will be enjoying some tonight but ordering avant-rush, I hope, like around 5. I’ll let you know how this strategy works.
If I walk fast, Vogglio is about 50 seconds away. High five! I thought about ordering early too. Please let me know how it goes.
Also, tell them to stop giving 50% off the second pizza. I feel like I’m robbing them when I walk out of there.
Omg! You’re back! I love you. lol
Sometime when I’m in Calgary (my brother and cousin live there) I’ll have to go. It does look spectacularly yummy!
Still haven’t found the yum in Edmonton.
